1. Create a folder titled "etpub" in your ET directory.

2. Extract qagame_mp_x86.dll which is located in the win32 folder that is in the etpub-0.3.1.zip that you downloaded from this site.

3. Put your server.cfg, punkbuster.cfg, campaign cycle.cfg and any other .cfg's that you use in this folder as well.

4. Create a new shortcut to your ET.exe and put it on your desktop (default location for this file is C:\\Program Files\\Wolfenstein - Enemy Territory

5. Right click and choose "properties" on your new ET.exe shortcut.

6. In the box titled "target" add this line of code after the ET.exe:

+set fs_game etpub +set dedicated 2 +set net_ip 70.85.42.92 +set net_port 27960 +exec server.cfg

Replace 70.85.42.92 with your IP and 27960 with the port that you want to use.

When this is done, it should look something like this:

C:\\Program Files\\Wolfenstein - Enemy Territory\\ET.exe +set fs_game etpub +set dedicated 2 +set net_ip 70.85.42.92 +set net_port 27960 +exec server.cfg

7. Click OK and run server.

(btw. thanks for posting this, it realy helped me out)

as far as i know the etded.exe was introduced with the latest ET patch (1.0.3 -> et2.60)
et.exe was the only .exe till 2.56

XPsave and shrubbot have to be enabled through a serverconfig ( http://et.tjw.org/etpub/docs/index.html )
you can connect to a server if you alter your et.exe link you normally use to play et online. add +set net_port 27931 or any other port you don't use for your server.

your friend might be blocked from windows firewall.

No you don't need shrubbot for XPSave, but you do need PunkBuster (XPSave uses PB GUIDs for tracking who is who).

You enable the ! commands by enabling shrubbot (lol!). Shrubbot also requires PB to be enabled.

g_xpsave is a setting that goes in your server.cfg file, it would look like this:

set g_xpsave 15

lol this is realy starting to annoy me. i need xp save, and i need the ! commands so i need shrubbot but i cant find shrubbot anywhere, or a howto or something like that.. is shrubbot a download-able file or do i have to make it myself.? (do you know where i cant find something that explains how to enable shrubbot and how to add ! commands in detail?)
and where in the server.cfg should i put the "set g_xpsave 15" super annoying stuff.... But i need shrubbot and i need PB but i read that server often crash if shrubbot is used and pb is also enabled.. too bad i cant just download a intire wolfenstein script and make some changes..

I will e-mail you some sample config files, including a shrubbot file. I apologize for not having sample cfg files ready.

Ehhhh it works good i suppose... thanks for that.. now the question, my shrubbot.cfg is executed but it sais: Invalid command or cvar etc. etc. but it IS loaded and it detects 7 admin levels so that should be good, but how do i set the first admin? i want to make myself level 6, i read something about rcon or something... but i dont know [censored] about rcon(how do i find out what my clientnumber is?) and do i realy need rcon? (Special thanks to Calzonzin:D:D:D)

To find your client number, type "/players" in the console - your # is the one next to your name

rcon is a short name for remote console.
you get it with every game that supports rcon (like alle quake engines) and normally most serverbrowser (ASE,XQF etc.)

For ET itself do the following:
fire up et, connect to the server you want shrubbot enabled (hope you set g_shrubbot to the shrubbot file)
the open the et console and type:
/rconpasswort [password]
with [password] the rcon pw from the server config file.
then you are logged in to the gameserver.
after that you can change CVars and stuff with:
/rcon cvar value
or enable shrubbot:
/rcon setlevel playername level
for example: /rcon Tommes 6
or /rcon playerid level
